The kids have really impressed us so far! They are doing a wonderful job in reading, writing, and math! Keep up the great work! Be sure to continue studying club words and read every night at home.

Get excited, our friendship parties are this Tuesday on February 14th. This week to help raise money for Fund for the Arts you can get your face painted on Tuesday and you can wear your favorite sports team on Friday. Each event costs $1.00. Conference Day information will be coming home this week, be sure to contact your teacher to sign up. Talent Shows for K/1 are Thursday at 2:00 and 6:00. If you are signed up for one of those times be ready to practice at school. If you would like to come and watch tickets are available online.
We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and exciting New Year! We cannot wait to begin learning with our K kids in 2017! Congratulations to Mrs. Galla who had a baby boy over the winter break.

Over the next few weeks we will strongly concentrate on our writing. We will begin writing our personal narrative pieces. We are learning to use the following skills as we write.
• I can write a letter or letters for most consonant and short vowel sounds (phonemes). (L.K.2)
• I can capitalize the first word in a sentence and the pronoun I. (L.K.2)
• I can recognize and name end punctuation. (L.K.2)
• I can use a combination of drawing and writing to narrate a single event or several loosely linked events. (W.K.3)
• I can tell about the events in the order in which they occurred. (W.K.3)
